Overview

SwordsmanATK.jpeg

Swordsmen are honest and as stubborn as the strong waves of the ocean. With strong physical attacks, defense, and a sense of command, a Swordsman can become a headstrong leader to others. Swordsmen continuously train to gain more skill and strength.

After reading King Tristan 3rd's official notice recruiting adventurers, Swordsmen join with the hope of becoming ever stronger. Equipped with strong armor and weapons, the brave Swordsman joins the world of adventure.

Job Changing

Once you reach Job Level 10, head to Izlude and enter the Swordsman Guild on the west side of town (izlude 52,137). Talk to the Swordsman NPC in the center room behind the desk, who changes your job to Swordsman. You will also be rewarded with a Novice Falchion.

Stats

Equipment

Swordsmen can use many weapons in Ragnarok Online, but only a few of them are suggested for use. The equipment and weapons will change once the Swordsman has become a Knight or Crusader.

Daggers: ASPD of these weapons are good as a Swordsman, but they inflict less damage on medium and large monsters compared to One-Handed Swords. Nonetheless, daggers inflict 100% to small monsters. Daggers can also be used with Shields, as Daggers are one-handed.

One-Handed Swords: They have the same ASPD as daggers, and they also inflict more damage on medium monsters. Nonetheless, the ASPD becomes better than that of Daggers after becoming a Knight or Crusader. One-Handed Swords can also be used with Shields.

Two-Handed Swords: These are not the best choice for a beginning Swordsman since the ASPD is very low and a Shields cannot be worn with one equipped. However, they can be used with a Knight's Two-Hand Quicken skill.

Spears: Swordsmen rarely use these due to having the lowest ASPD of all weapons a Swordsman can use, unless to take advantage of their range to attack steady enemies from afar. However, One-Handed Spears are great for Knights, while Two-Handed Spears are good for a Crusader's Holy Cross skill.

Others: Maces have lower ASPD than Daggers and One-Handed Swords but higher than Axes and Two-Handed Swords and much higher than Spears, while Axes are only somewhat faster than Spears.

High Swordsman

Swordsman transcendent.png
Once the character has been reborn as a High Novice and attained Job Level 10, they can become a High Swordsman. They gain the same skills and job bonuses as their non-transcendent First Job. In addition, they gain special colors in their sprites, +25% HP and SP, and automatically learn any quest skills that had been previously obtained in their non-transcendent First Class.
